Oral and maxillofacial surgery includes diagnosis, treatment, prevention and rehabilitation as well as tooth and jaw form alteration. Special emphasis is given to functional (chewing, swallowing, speaking) and aesthetic rehabilitation of the patient.

Mucogingival surgery

Mucogingival surgery improves particularly the aesthetic aspects of the gums related to the very tooth as well as implants. The tooth may appear elongated as the gum of this very tooth is retracted. Using mucogingival intervention, e.g. by means of simultaneous flap extension using inlays of the bonding tissue transplant, the gums will be aesthetically widened again.

Therefore, the smile line will be harmonized again and optimal safety in speaking and laughing restored. Of course it may be equally essential to use an implant instead of a natural tooth.

Mucogingival surgery is in the position to achieve cosmetic, aesthetic comfortable and beautiful results, even if diminished gingival papilla or otherwise positioned loss of gum in the aesthetically related field should be restored.

Periodontal surgery

A nice form of the teeth is largely determined by the course and condition of the gum.

Exposition of the root often occurs due to the so called recession. In this case teeth often react very sensitively to temperature differences. Visually it leads to an extension of the crown. Using microsurgery, these recessions can be covered with the gums from one's own body.
