Whether someone looks attractive and sympathetic depends mostly on the appearance of one’s mouth, i.e. on beautiful, radiant, white teeth and, especially, on the healthy gums!

Healthy gums are firm, pink and bear a harmonic wave profile. On the contrary, unhealthy gums are dark red, slightly bleeding and sometimes have an unpleasant smell.

A timely treatment of the gums, depending on the depth of the periodontal pocket, prevents the gradual loss of teeth. The periodontitis can be prevented through the means of a systematic Prophylaxis program.

Long tooth necks and mucogingival surgery

Exposed tooth necks and sticking out or deep crown margins can be quite inconvenient. After all, they are not only painful, but also affect aesthetics, especially in the anterior and anterolateral tooth regions.

In such cases of problems with the gums, refined microsurgical techniques can be of great help. The lost tissue is replaced by firm gums. Therefore, healthy tissue is removed from another part of the oral cavity, usually from the palate, and transplanted to the damaged area.

These kinds of procedures are not too uncomfortable and can be carried out under local anaesthetic. You can get detailed information on the exact procedure in a personal consultation.
