The technique of cosmetic contouring is suitable for any faulty tooth shape, especially for that of the youth, as it enables to abstain from grinding, which causes the loss of natural tooth substance which is still very sensitive at this age.
The adhesipve technique - the application of the composite* to a tooth – enables:
• closure of the tooth spaces (Diastema) • remodelling of the faulty tooth shape (peg-shaped teeth) • improvement of irregular tooth surfaces.
In many cases, the adhesive technique can often prevent prolonged orthodontic treatment or implantation of ceramic crowns; both are more expensive and time-consuming.
* The dental composite substance consists of thin fluid synthetic materials and inorganic filler particles. The adhesive bonding of these materials results from the acid cauterization technique used in the part of the dental enamel and from a chemical compound in the dentine region. |
